A Brush with History: Plein Air Watercolour Workshop

Experience painting as the Group of Seven did, En Plein Air (outdoors). Materials are included..

This workshop takes place outdoors—please dress appropriately for the weather.

Guided Tour of The Lingering Instant

Celebrate the legacy of the Canadian Art by experiencing art by contemporary Canadian Artist, Mark Stebbins in his exhibition The Lingering Instant currently on display at JNAAG.

Vault Visit Tours and Mini Concerts
11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m.  Registration required

Discover the early connection the Group of Seven had to Sarnia when you visit the gallery vault. A vault visit lasts 15 minutes and registration is required. Harpist Emily Arts will present improvisational compositions responding to two of the JNAAG’s most beloved pieces by the Group of Seven.

Each vault visit lasts 15 minutes.

Drawing in the Gallery: Postcards from JNAAG

Try your hand at observational drawing in Together Apart / Under One Roof.  We’ll give you the materials, the inspiration, and a postcard to write home about it. After completing your drawing, stop into the studio to bring your drawing to life by adding colour.

Art Studio: Landscapes in Colour

Join us in the art studio to create a landscape painting using watercolour pencils or relax with a colouring page of one of the Group of Seven pieces in our collection.

Exploring the Group of Seven: Video Screening and Button Making

Activity Stations in the Lecture Theatre

Visit our family-friendly activity stations featuring videos developed by our volunteers highlighting aspects of some of the pieces by the Group of Seven in the JNAAG’s permanent collection. There will also be a button maker to create your own keepsake to remember your Group of Seven Day experience!

Reading Zone

Browse through a carefully curated selection of Group of Seven books from the gallery's personal collection. Deepen your understanding of these influential artists while relaxing in our comfortable reading area.
