Night at the Doll Factory

As Halloween approaches, it’s time for ghoulish fun, participants will use imagination and creativity to design a Franken doll. Basic doll bodies are to be transformed using materials provided. Inspiration is taken from the example provided but with each artist adding their own twists.

Still Life Impressions

November 5-6 | 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Taking inspiration from both Colleen Schindler’s divergent practice of photo collage and the still life paintings in the Memento exhibit, hone your observational skills, explore lighting and composition, and challenge yourself to expand your artistic practice by joining this November’s TNT session. Working with emulsion transfers, pattern creation and still life set-up and painting skills, participants will be encouraged to create a multi-media still life painting that incorporates printing making techniques, painting and even a touch of embroidery, if desired.

Embroidered Embellishments

Create a colourful abstract artwork on canvas using paint markers, then add texture and detail with simple embroidery techniques. Explore the creative combination of drawing and stitching to make a one-of-a-kind mixed-media piece.

Bold Nature

Create a bold and colourful nature scene inspired by the artwork of Grahame Lynch and Colleen Schindler. Using acrylic paint, construction paper, and paint markers, explore layering, texture, and colour to create your own unique landscape.
