Chasing Vibrato: Rita Letendre
March 1, 2019 - April 14, 2019
Rita Letendre (Drummondville, 1928) is an abstract artist who has lived in Toronto since 1970. Drawing works from JNAAG and Museum London's permanent collections, Chasing Vibrato investigates Letendre's experiments with new mediums that prompted a stylistic transition from the hard-edged arrows that gained her international recognition to a period dominated by atmospheric haze. In both approaches, she makes the surface of her works vibrate through dynamic tension between colour and form.
