Exhibition Shot of Composing Suspense

July 6 - 15, 2018

For the third instalment of the Look & See program we are pleased to bring together the work of Alvinston-based artist Daisy Fresh and Sarnia-based artist Laura Kreviazuk. The Look & See program is an opportunity for artists from across Lambton-County to submit their artwork for an exhibition at the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery (JNAAG). This year the gallery received 36 applications from which the curatorial team selected five artists for studio visits. From these visits, three artists were selected to be exhibited.

Exhibition Shot - Daisy Fresh

Daisy Fresh recently relocated to Lambton-County, settling into the town of Alvinston, where she maintains her studio practice. After years of working as a designer for an international global marketing company, she has returned to her passion for painting full-time. Daisy is a graduate of Sheridan College's Animation, Arts & Design programme, and continues to enrich her studies through the University of Toronto, Ontario College of Art and Design, and other arts centres.

Laura Kreviazuk received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Studio Art from the University of Guelph. Following graduation, she relocated to Toronto where she co-founded the VSVSVS studio collective and artist-run centre. During this time, Kreviazuk continued to develop her own drawing language, merging materials and methods of application to develop her own distinctive mark making.  Her immersive mixed media drawings are based on a complex collection of source materials, documentation and memory. Upon returning to Sarnia, Kreviazuk maintains a rigorous daily studio practice, where she draws inspiration for her drawings. Kreviazuk has had numerous solo and group exhibitions and has participated in artist residencies throughout Ontario.
