Collage of winners photographs on a dark grey background with the title Lambton Through the Lens below in white text

August 2 - October 12, 2024

Teen preview and awards: Thursday, August 1
Opening: First Friday, August 2

Teens across Lambton County have been making creatively inspired photographs in response to this year’s Teen Photo Contest theme “Lambton Through the Lens.”

In this exhibit a juried selection of submissions will appear alongside photography by Jane Hinton from JNAAG’s permanent collection. Hinton’s fascination with photographing bridges took her around the world and produced a body of work which included many works featuring Sarnia’s Blue Water Bridge. Her knowledge of classical and contemporary art became the foundation for her experimentation with the camera and the development of her unique multi-framed images.

This exhibition is a community arts initiative with Lambton County Library.

Special thanks are extended to guest jurors Richard Beland, Sonya Blazek and Arden Mailhiot for their attention to detail and careful consideration of each work. The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery would like to congratulate those that have been selected for inclusion: Alexis Brown, Ameera Almalki, Azalynn Campbell, Byron Chu, Conner Freer, Elizabeth Akiwenzie, Isis Belleman-McKeegan, Joey Cantalini, Justice Fioroni, Livvy Clark, Madeline Palleschi, Mercy Naus, Randy Palmer, Raveena Duggal, Regan Jacklin, Zoe Simpson.

Congratulations to the following award winners for their exceptional submissions:

Category Winner: Overall – Isis Belleman-McKeegan
Category Winner: Abstract - Madeline Palleschi
Category Winner: Local Icon - Joey Cantalini
Category Winner: Romance of Ruin – Alexis Brown

Photo Gallery: Lambton Through The Lens will appear here on the public site.
