JNAAG hosting Summer RAAW Teen Workshops

Email icon Back to Search

Sarnia, ON – The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery is inviting teens aged 14-18 to the summer Random Acts of Art Workshop (RAAW). This free multi-day intensive workshop is designed for teens interested in exploring art making. Led by practicing professional artists, RAAW is the perfect balance of instruction and experimentation. Workshops include:

Photography with Sierra Rei Hart
July 6 - 8, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Local award-winning photographer Sierra Rei Hart will teach participants how to use everyday items to hone their budding skills. Through challenges and games, she will help them see the word through a different lens. These sessions will explore composition, perspective, contemplative photography, lighting, and editing. Participants will then be able to submit their favourite masterpieces to the Take Your Shot: Teen Photo Contest hosted by the JNAAG in partnership with Lambton County Library.

Poetry with Shelly Grace
July 20 - 22, Time TBA
Award winning spoken word artist Shelly Grace will share her passion for storytelling. Participants will be inspired to explore their own unique voice and story through creative language. The group will learn how to clearly and creatively communicate in this dynamic poetry and writing workshop culminating in a response to a piece from JNAAG’s permanent collection.

To learn more about these workshops, visit the event page on the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery website. For more information on the Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery, visit jnaag.ca or follow the Gallery on Facebook.
